Here comes another inspirational collection of botanical art for you to enjoy. Malaysian artist Noreen Loh Hui Miun created surreal mixed media sculptural series The Marriage. She cleverly combines all kinds of different plant aspects adding them a surreal twist. All of this in order to construct her own, never before seen breathtaking plant species. She handcrafts all of these gentle sculptures with Lamitak’s imitation wood to mirror its origins and demonstrate its versatility. This meticulous endeavor begins with prepared and dried plant segments. After the frame is constructed from branches, moss and stones, Noreen continues by incorporating vibrant laminate petals which give life to these pieces. This collection was first showcased at Singapliral’s project X exhibition.
I did not not manage to graduate from the art school. Consequently, I kind of found the path by accident.
I would say my art is all about exploration and experiment. It is like opening a secret magical door. And the door #1 leads to another door.
What interests me mostly and I feel inspired by includes floral, drawing, analogue photography, hands on projects.
This is a project i did with Lamitak, a company that produces laminated for singaplural under Project X in 2015 design festival.
