Have you ever visualized a song? In my mind it looks very abstract. But for super creative illustrative duo from Novosibirsk, Russia this was an interesting challenge. Alexei Lyapunov and Lena Ehrlich, better known as People Too, created intricate, vivid illustrations on top of the old music sheets. The colorful artwork displays both urban and idyllic, rural landscapes. These illustrations depicting scenes of people fishing, dancing, and commuting are produced with great precision and attention to detail. Musical notations from the songs are almost always part of the illustrations themselves with notes becoming steps, hills, or trunks of trees.
We don’t call that than we are engaged in the word “art”:). It is just work and hobby at the same time. We are 47 years old team working together, creating pictures out of paper for sites, advertising and individuals.. We live in the small Siberian village on the bank of Ob river.
For us, life, world around us, and interesting tasks are the best sources of inspiration.
Our way of work and ideas sparked an interest of a lot of people. I would say that competitive fight among illustrators forces us to work in original style.
We don’t know what future holds for us. Only time will tell. 🙂
