Adorable Alien Visitors from Planet Weird invading our hearths!

Imagination is the ability we are all lucky to possess. Unfortunately life tries its best to separate us from this “superpower”, leaving us alone in this cold, “real world”. But not everything is lost. We still have creative people fighting in the front lines against our greatest enemy, the mundane.  Richard & Aline (FromPlanetWeird) are not your ordinary couple. Although they inhabit our world they also created their own separate universe called Planet Weird. Their passion about art & design lead them on a path of creating strange and totally whimsical creatures depicted in all sorts of interesting situations.

Talented cartoonist, Richard, began creating monster doodles for Aline’s lunch bag to break up some of the stress of the day. What started as simple pen sketches, after a while became more intricate designs. Obvious jealousy of Aline’s co-workers of the drawings gave Richard & Aline the idea of turning them into interesting prints. Hence, Aline, a digital film compositor, started assimilating Richard’s creatures with her photos, actually bringing them to our world!

We are a creative duo who take joy in bringing the weird and wonderful to the world.

Our main source of inspiration, besides each other, are the cartoons of our childhood. As a child, did you wonder what it would be like if your favorite cartoons came to life? We wanted to capture that wonder. The feeling we had as children that anything, like these magical creatures, could exist.

We want to try to capture the feeling of our creatures existing in the real world as best as possible. Fortunately our fields of interest play perfectly into that. As a trained cartoonist, I (Richard) create these unreal creatures. Aline works as a digital compositor, so she works every day at combining live action film with VFX. Thus making reality from the unreal.

We want to continue to bring our creatures into the real world in as many ways as possible. We’ve recently started making enamel pins. We’re always brainstorming ideas about how we can bring our friends from “Planet Weird” into the lives of people like us. Ones who love the weird and wonderful!
