Toronto based digital artist and an amazing storyteller Chris Corridore created yet another inspiring art series. Nine lives is a unique nine piece series interpreting the Pokémon Eevee and its evolutions. This collection of portraits puts you on a journey with adorable Pokémon we all know and love, but with a twist. Eevee is now in a human form, giving Chris unique ability to showcase wide variety of emotions within each piece. Even though it is a same character throughout the series he manages to clearly define each individual phase of Eevee’s evolution. Browsing through all of the portraits you will be able to see subtle differences in character and emotion as well as physical characteristic changing right before your eyes.
I would say my favourite thing about myself is my taste, I have a love for craftsmanship and quality and innovation. It gives me life fam.
Creating story through characters is something that I like. Sometimes I am influenced by the people around me, but equally from characters that left an impression on me in movies, comics, and video games.
I use digital painting as my medium because it allows me to manipulate my ideas that traditional ways can’t. I am a product of the digital age and I try to take full advantage of that.
Expanding my storytelling capabilities is something I am currently working on. I am starting a followup series to “The Hunt” called “The Dive” which focuses on water animals. I am also exploring new concepts for my portrait work.
