One Message from Space from your Frontier Friends – Social Space Project by Thè Orion

Art is the best with intent and deeper meaning. If that message is philosophical, you are surely going to enjoy it. As it happens, I have one such a thing to present to you today!  Thè Orion,  young, and very talented artist from Romania created this profound series of murals called Social Space.

This series contains three pieces so far. Frontier Friends, reminding us that Social space spreads out far beyond our own digital borders, into the vastness of the Universe. It seems like it is just a matter of time for us to find all the hidden friend requests within the galactic neighborhood. The Message is a panoramic mural that celebrated Voyager 1’s 39th anniversary since its launch by NASA on September 5, 1977. Voyager 1 spacecraft studied the outer Solar System, while carrying a special message in the event that it will be found by intelligent life forms from other planetary systems. And last from the bunch, The One. Billions and billions of notifications are scattered across the Universe. We are just one of them. All that we liked, loved and shared, is on it.

Explain my art in one sentence? That is a really good question. It’s hard to say… I guess it’s a cosmic romance for those who cannot go out there, yet.

For me, astronomy was always the soul of inspiration. Everything starts inside this fascinating factory that our timeless Universe is. I love to bring on a wall, in front of your eyes, a fraction of what the Universe up there looks like. But really, the time we now live in is somehow reminding me about the future we imagined not long ago. New amazing discoveries and deep mission observations that were sent years or decades ago, are made almost daily. I don’t even have enough time to finish an idea about a new planet they’ve discovered, that by the end of the day they found two more circling a particular star. It’s that fast and it’s also pushing my ideas further on.

I’ve never thought on this that much. I suppose I was hooked with my first use with the spray paint can, this liquid version of a crayon, and since then I’m constantly perfecting my skills. From big murals to a tiny sheet of paper, spray paint it is.

More space? I will definitely tease you more with my ‘Wormholes’ project. 2017 will also see the second part of the ‘Social Space’ mural series. But more of this in the upcoming months.

Social Space, new Universe of Art?

While we wait for Thè Orion to complete the rest of his murals from this phenomenal series we could only ponder on his profound message. To stay up to date with his progress make sure to follow him on his social media: Facebook, Twitterand Instagram. I would really love to hear your thoughts on these out of this world pieces in a comment section bellow. I will end this with wonderful words from Thè Orion: “Thanks for having me, until next time, keep an eye on the stars!”
