Lithuanian based artist Artūras Tamašauskas creates meticulous steampunk sculptures. By repurposing old, and unused devices and parts he brings army of beings to life with his ingenuity. These creatures are whimsical, but at the same time graceful and opulent in their own way. From hilarious animals, to coffee making robots, cars made out of old radio, and stunning looking UFO’s Artūras never ceases to amaze. His unconventional way of thinking and endless creativity seems to end up with all sorts of unforeseen results.
I would call myself a steampunk style lover and the creator. I’ve been thinking about creating a penguin for a long time. The royal penguin catched my eye. He seemed to be the perfect one to realise my ideas. While I was holding an old motorcycle lamp housing in my hand, the idea came – it will be the main part of the body! The rest came itself.
My main source of inspiration is vision. Unconventional, unexpected solution.
There is a special place in my hearth for this technique. I discover myself in my work and relax creating strange things.
In the future I intend to continue surprise people with the interesting work. At the same time I would love to surprise myself.
More Steampunk Sculptures?!
Endless inspiration that radiates from these surreal sculptures is astounding. Chunky rustic materials paired with ingenuity of a true craftsman resulted in spectacular art pieces.
