Subtle Giants with a strong Message – Urban Murals by Millo

Although many of us pass through city streets on our daily commute, hardly anyone looks around anymore. Our senses have been desensitized by heaps of commercials and billboards staring us in the face on every corner. But Urban Murals like these you will not be able to miss. With their subtle beauty, and clear message they convey with hints of color, they will shatter your indifference, and wake you up.

Italian artist Francesco Camillo Giogino, also known as Millo, is known for his site-specific street murals that adorn buildings with a cast of curious characters painted in primarily black and white. Millo adds subtle color to his works, highlighting hearts, thermometers, and vegetation with shades of red and green.

Everyday life is the biggest form of inspiration for me. In my works what I live, see, feel, listen during my journeys, my afternoon naps, my walkings..and so on. Actually everything that surrounds me and impressed me, in some way, in the end will find a space in my works.

My lines comes out easily since the first time, and the use of the black help me to clarify my will. It has no real reason but it was the best way to express what I feel. Now I use the color to underline the meaning , to highlight something important in the reading of the work.
